Hourly Student Position - Emissaries for Belonging & Inclusion

Join the University Graduate School as an Emissary for Graduate Student Belonging & Inclusion! As a member of our team of dedicated and enthusiastic IU ambassadors, you will work with fellow graduate students from all disciplines to develop and promote peer connections, foster campus community, and serve as a referrer to various campus resources and services. The position is open to current master’s and doctoral students who desire to uplift and create an inclusive campus climate for all. International students are eligible to apply. We are looking for students that live in or around Bloomington campus and have completed at least one full academic year at IU by the start of fall 2026. Emissary activities and monthly meetings will start in August 2026 and will run through May 2027.  

Graduate Assistant Position 2026-2027 – IU Undergraduate Research (IUUR)

The IU Undergraduate Research Office invites applicants for a graduate assistant. This is a 10-month appointment (20 hours per week), beginning on August 24, 2026 and includes a stipend (amount is being finalized) and a fee remission. The fee remission will cover 12 credits during Fall 2026, 12 credits during Spring 2027, and 6 during Summer 2027. Preference will be given to those who can start in May to assist with our IUUR Summer Research program as a part-time hourly employee.

Grad Grants Center, UGS - Graduate Assistantship, Proposal Development Consultant

THE PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT is one of four graduate assistants who work directly with fellow graduate students in the GradGrants Center, a graduate student service located in the Wells Library-BL. The Center is sponsored by The University Graduate School and is available to enrolled graduate students of all IUB campuses. The consultants handle the day-to-day operations of the GradGrants Center and share training responsibilities (e.g., developing grant-writing content, working one-on-one with graduate students from all disciplines, presenting grant training workshops, preparing visual aids and materials, handling web and social media content). Our consultants assist students in their search for external funding sources and are available to work one-on-one with graduate students in discussing and critiquing their grant proposals.

Each year since 2016, two graduate students have been selected to serve as Diversity Fellows to assist with recruiting, retention, and completion efforts at the University Graduate School. The fellows play a significant role in establishing and maintaining strong connections with current and prospective students, student organizations, and other community members, focusing on furthering belonging and inclusion initiatives. Fellows also assist with building inclusive intellectual and social spaces for all Indiana University Graduate School students, with a particular focus on underrepresented communities.

The Student Academic Center employs AIs to teach most of the courses we offer. Remuneration for all our AI positions includes a stipend, health insurance, and tuition/fee remission. The number of openings varies from year to year, and some positions require specific subject knowledge. Assignments are on a 10-month basis (August through May) and may vary from one term to the next.
