Student Academic Appointments (SAA) are a primary source of funding for many graduate students. Some SAAs include full or partial fee remissions and health insurance. Remember that you can also apply for assistantships in other departments/offices on campus. Area studies programs, libraries and archives, and centers are other places to inquire about SAAs.

Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning—Hourly Graduate Student Instructional Consultant
The Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) invites applications for an hourly graduate student instructional consultant position. The hourly position involves 10 hours per week at $16 per hour (fee remission and benefits are not included) beginning early February. Some remote work is possible, but it is expected this person will work at least half of the hours in-person at our office in Wells Library. Applications are due on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 9 AM
Maurer School of Law: Exam Proctors in Fall 2023
Maurer Law School needs to hire approximately 10 SJD/PhD students to proctor exams for JD, LLM and exchange students this semester. The rate of pay is $13 per hour, and the dates of the exam period are November 30 – December 15 (though you do not need to be available on all of the days). Deadline to apply: Friday, November 17th, 2023.
The Department of Criminal Justice is looking to hire a graduate student SAA – Associate Instructor for Spring 2024. This position is open to graduate students within the College of Arts + Sciences only. Interested students should send their (1) CV, and (2) a list of courses for which they have been an AI or instructor for to gradcj@iu.edu . A stipend in the amount of $11,000, graduate student health insurance, tuition remission in the amount of 12 credit hours, and mandatory fee remission for Spring.
