Primary Role:
The Technology Coordinator will manage the Hudson & Holland Scholars website and social media presence. The position will also create and manage electronic survey tools and will make signage, flyers and brochures. This position also assists with Hudson & Holland Scholars application process in collaboration with the Office of Scholarships. The Technology Coordinator assists with maintaining the HHSP Student Portal, the be INvolved platform, HHSP Canvas, and other forms of HHSP communications.
Academic Year: 2020- 2021, 10 month academic appointment
Weekly hours: 20 hours per week, 50% of Full Time Equivalent
The supervisor and the GA will determine the GA’s work schedule based upon the GA’s schedule and HHSP office needs. Work hours will typically be performed between 8a.m.-5 p.m. on weekdays.
Compensation: $10,000 stipend disbursed in 10 monthly payments, a 30 credit hour fee remission with a maximum of 12 credit hours per semester and 6 credit hours during the summer, and health insurance coverage from August 1, 2020 through July 31, 2021.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain the HHSP website,
- Develop and maintain the HHSP Student Portal and beINvolved platform,
- Manage all social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.),
- Manage all electronic communications for the Program,
- Assist with the HHSP application process,
- Create and manage electronic survey tools and digital marketing,
- Train staff and students on platforms and communications as needed,
- GA must have technical proficiency and ability to learn new systems as needed.
Qualifications:
Must qualify for Federal Graduate Work-Study funding, as determined by the Bloomington Office of Student Financial Assistance (BOSFA). Must fill out a FAFSA form for BOSFA to determine if the student qualifies for Work-Study funding.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor degree in Informatics, Computer Science or related field and must be enrolled and in good standing as a full-time student in a graduate degree program at IU-Bloomington.
Minimum Experience:
One year of coding, programming, and website development experience including experience creating and deploying social media content on multiple platforms.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Working knowledge and proficiency in using website CMS and Adobe Suite,
- Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and participants and how they can be used effectively and efficiently to reach target audience,
- Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work independently (self-motivated) and as a member of a team,
- Strong organizational and time management skills,
- Exceptional knowledge of editorial style guidelines,
- Ability to copy edit a variety of written materials,
- Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability,
- Able to work and interface with a diverse group of staff, students, and faculty
Expectations:
The Graduate Assistant must be a Bloomington campus student and may not concurrently hold a position as Associate Instructor, Graduate Assistant, or Research Assistant, nor be committed to other full time or part time work. The student is be expected to work evening hours and work weekend events as needed while complying with 20 hours per week rule per Agreement for Student Academic Appointee.
Employee is expected to be timely and consistent with work assignments. The Graduate Assistant should also have a solid work ethic and be able to work with diverse clients and students.

The deadline to submit the FAFSA form for Indiana is April 15, 2020 as a received date or as soon as possible, please. FAFSA forms submitted and received after April 15 may have a delay in eligibility determination. After July 1, 2020, the IU Bloomington Office of Student Financial Assistance (IUBOSFA) will advise the unit vacant position supervisor of the applicant’s eligibility assessment results. Applicants should not submit their confidential FAFSA reports to the supervisor.
