The Office of Admissions is a department under the Office of Enrollment Services and the front-facing department to the public for undergraduate recruitment for the Indiana University Bloomington campus. The Office of Admissions is responsible for recruiting the freshman class each year, counseling prospective students and their families about the admissions process, providing accurate information to the public about our recruiting requirements and standards, and marketing Indiana University Bloomington.
Position Description:
Admissions Counselor: Develop, coordinate, implement, and participate in recruitment efforts and admissions-related initiatives that serve to advance the undergraduate enrollment goals of the Indiana University Bloomington campus. Manage the A-Team student ambassador program, the tour guide and presentation team within the Office of Admissions. Coordinate the A-Team by scheduling tour guides for daily tours, presentations, and special events. Oversee the training, recruitment, and meetings for all A-Team guides. Serve as liaison with Indiana University, student body, alumni and the Bloomington community.
Responsibilities:
Students will interact with student ambassadors through daily campus tours and presentations.
Oversee daily tour transitions, find coverage for tours, presentations and special events
Manage and publishes weekly schedules
Schedule monthly meetings and weekly email communications
Monitor timesheets
Conduct research on best practices and trends within the field of admission and/or college counseling to be presented to admission staff during staff meetings, retreats, and workshops.
Qualifications:
Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree and be currently enrolled in or received admission to an Indiana University Graduate Program on the Bloomington campus. Student should be organized, responsible, and dependable and have the ability to work independently; possess analytical problem solving and decision making skills; and be champion for IU and have a positive enthusiastic attitude toward their IU experience.
Compensation:
This position be stipend and tuition reimbursement with a commitment of 20-25 hours per week. All applicants are asked to apply for Federal Work-Study. Offers contingent upon approval.

Length of Appointment: 10 month appointment
