Eskenazi Museum of Art -- Indiana University’s treasury for the art of the world -- is a preeminent teaching museum, providing exceptional opportunities for all to engage with the visual arts. Our graduate assistant program supports a team of Indiana University students from a variety of disciplines who work collaboratively with Eskenazi Museum of Art mentors on individual and shared projects that realize institutional gains and advance student learning goals.
Through regularly-scheduled collaborative learning meetings, our program provides opportunities for graduate assistants, other Eskenazi Museum of Art apprentices, and museum personnel to engage as a community of scholars, learning together in ways that support our current work and our future scholarship and career goals.
Potential Projects Include:
- Curatorial (Ancient) -- Assist our Curator of Ancient Art in areas such as research, cataloging, exhibition preparation, and expanding/entering records in computerized collections management system.
- Creative Services (Marketing) – Assist the museum’s department of creative services in a variety of social media tasks and assisting in the execution of a range of design, marketing, communications, and public relations initiatives.
Compensation:
Graduate assistant opportunities include a stipend, fee remission, and enrollment in IU’s student appointee medical and dental plans.
Eligibility:
All Indiana University graduate students committed to active learning through direct engagement with art from Eskenazi Museum of Art’s wide-ranging collection are eligible to apply. Applicants must be enrolled full time for the 2020-2021 academic year.
