The Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design MAD LABS (Makerspace for Art and Design) are digital fabrication output labs that provide laser engraving, vinyl cutting/plotting, 3D printing, CNC routing, and CNC plasma cutting services to faculty and students from across campus. A successful candidate for employment in the LABS will possess the following:
- Attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- A desire to provide excellent customer service
- Organizational skills
- Ability and willingness to follow direction
- Ability to work independently
- Must be an MA, MS, MFA or PhD degree candidate in the College of Arts & Sciences
Familiarity with the Adobe Suite and Rhinoceros 3D is a plus, but not required. No previous experience with digital fabrication technologies is required. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive on the job training.
The GA receives a stipend up to $7875 and health insurance. Fee remission available up to 12 credit hours. The GA is expected to work 20 hours per week.
