AKUA A. ASOMANI-ADEM
AJ is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Counselling and Educational Psychology with a major in School Psychology. She received her BSc. in Psychology from the University of Ghana, where she worked as the editor-in-chief for a student magazine that spanned across several universities. AJ obtained her MSc. In Clinical Psychological Research from Keele University in England. In her time at Keele, she volunteered as a copy editor for the graduate student journal Under Construction at Keele. She has run creative writing camps in Ghana and England, where participants wrote full-length collaborative novels in five days. In 2017, she started a reading club for children in Ghana that specifically focused on making reading more appealing to reluctant readers. Her research interests include children’s reading and writing issues. She is specifically interested in exploring the use of creative writing to increase reading motivation in children and plans to conduct her dissertation research in this area.
